Granting Write Access to the Event Log

To allow Signotaur to write messages to the Event Log, follow these steps:

1. Open Registry Editor

   • Run regedit to open the Registry Editor.

2. Navigate to the Event Log Key

   • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application.

3. Edit Permissions

   • Right-click the Application key and select Permissions.
   • Click Add, enter the service account name, and confirm.
   • Grant Full Control or Write permissions to enable logging.

4. Apply and Restart Service

   • Apply the changes and restart the Signotaur service for permissions to take effect.

The service account should now have the necessary permissions to write to the Application event log.
