Granting 'Log on as a Service' Permission

To run Signotaur as a Windows Service, the designated service account needs the "Log on as a service" permission. This guide explains how to add this permission to a user account.

Steps to Grant "Log on as a Service" Permission

  1. Find to the User Rights Assignment Local Policy

    • Run secpol.msc to open Local Security Policy.
    • Go to Local Policies > User Rights Assignment.

  2. Edit "Log on as a service"

    • Find and double-click Log on as a service.
    • Click Add User or Group, enter the service account name, and confirm with OK.

  3. Apply and Restart

    • Apply changes. Restart the Signotaur service.

The service account should now have the required permission to run Signotaur.
